Our kids are changing the world. Our library helps them do it.

Our teens and young people are invested in their future, now more than ever before. They are grappling with BIG issues, finding truth and embracing what it means to be a citizen.

Our public library is a staunch partner in that quest. It provides the resources and tools to understand a complex world and help shape it.

Your gift to the Berkeley Public Library Foundation keeps our library agile, innovative, and strong – at the top of its game. With your help, we're bringing new technology for learning to our libraries, with an exciting new teen space and other improvements at the Central Library on the horizon.

Did you know? Children and teens use the library more than any other group. That's over 57,000 visits per year and 655,000 materials in circulation just for kids.

The Berkeley Public Library helps people of all ages learn how to read, find jobs, solve problems, be creative, and get healthy. It is a cultural connector, a hub for discovery, and one of the few remaining free and totally open places where anyone can find the tools they need to navigate a diverse world.

In 1903, Rosa Shattuck, a Berkeley pioneer and lifelong public library supporter, secured the funding and donated the land for Berkeley's first permanent public library. She supported the library for the rest of her life.

Gifts of every size are needed to help our library thrive and grow. If you can, please consider making a $1,000 or more sustaining gift. Donors at this level become members of the Rosa Shattuck Circle and receive early access to special events, and other benefits throughout the year.

The Berkeley Public Library Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
